Hello and welcome to the website for the psychotherapy practice of Louise Miller in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Thank you for visiting.
As a way of introducing my work to you--my areas of expertise are: Family of Origin Issues, Drug and Alcohol Issues, Women's Issues, Chronic and Life-Threatening Illness, Trauma, and Grief/Loss. I have worked for several years in the field of addictions and mental health, with teenagers and adults. I also work as a therapist with issues of death and dying, and lesbian and gay issues. I work with individuals, couples, and families. I consider it an honor to accompany a client on their journey of exploring, understanding, resolving, and healing.
My particular psychotherapy style is based on several different and complementary traditions in the therapeutic field--object-relations, Jungian depth psychology, humanistic, and transpersonal traditions. My educational and professional qualifications include being a Licensed Professional Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LPCC) in New Mexico, and I am a National Certified Counselor (NCC).
I graduated from Southwestern College in Santa Fe, NM with a MA in Counseling, and I also have a BS in Nursing from the University of Washington, and previously was a practicing Registered Nurse for 16 years. I also completed graduate work in Health Planning and Policy, and Political Science. I believe strongly in doing one's own work.
Regarding payment, I work with clients with their income. I have a sliding fee scale and I take some insurances and HMO payments. Please call to discuss your financial situation and let's see what we can work out. I view therapy as an investment in oneself.
Depending on a client's needs and situation, I may do on-line work. Please contact me through email below or at (505) 385-0562 if you have an interest in my work or in becoming a client. The office is located in the NE Heights part of Albuquerque. Please check out the links below. Thanks!
